    Replacement PSU for an SB62G2?

A loud bang and a smell of smoke means I'm now shopping for a new PSU for my so-far-unused SB62G2. Who stocks these? Gemma are the likely candidates but I'm getting 404s on their page right now. Not sure where else to look.

I seem to remember reading of an upgraded, quieter PSU for the SB6 series Shuttles; can I get one of those instead? Or are they US-only? They don't seem to be on Shuttle.com's "XPC accessories" page.

The new PSU is listed on microdirects site, I don't know if they are actually stocked yet or not though.

Thanks elneckio, I'll check MD... Hmmm, £32 for a normal one, £45 for a SilentX one. Does anyone know how much better the SilentX ones are? I would appreciate a quieter machine.

Rabs, all I did was plug it in! Admittedly, I did have the kettle lead live at the time, which I suppose is a tiny bit naughty. But I think I was just plain unlucky. Fortunately, the board powered up with a normal ATX PSU, so it doesn't look like either the mobo or P4-2.4C went south with the PSU.

It was a review model that no-one ever asked me to return, so I'd rather not draw any attention to myself from Shuttle As I've blagged a SB62G2 and a P4, I figure I can afford to be down a PSU and still be ahead of the game!

    Nice job

If you hunt around the new 250w psu's are coming out. They're also quieter than the current ones.

In case anyone is interested, Microdirect told me that they are getting a delivery from Shuttle sometime next week (Jan 5th--9th) and should have stock of the SilentX PSUs after that.

I'd rather dodge that question It's a magazine anyway, not a website.
