    Heatpipes are generally a good thing.
    However in this case I'd say they are a gimmick.

    awesome I want one if it is anything like the msi 775 650i motherboard it should be a good over clocker do you think they do an alternative with chrome pipes that way it would match my case

    I like the heatpipe theory as it helps spread the heat around the case, but the type I would like is one that you can weld yourself as you have no ideal until your computyer is built whether a horizontal heatpipe won't be blocked by the case, or a vertical one by your monster graphics card etc....

    P.S. I like the one shown!

    Just looking at the pictures, it looks like it would foul any ram using large heatsinks - ie the Dominator range?

    I think heatpipes on a motherboard are a good idea, as it means there are big southbridge heatsinks or winey fans to get in the way of your graphics card or memory, but those looped heatpipes are just OTT bling.
