    ABIT RAID Motherboard?

    Hi,
I currently run a KT7A-RAID on my server and am happy with it, but need to upgrade it to a new server for other reasons. I'm trying to find a cheap ABIT motherboard that supports RAID but am having problems finding anything other than the very latest models, which come with lots of functionality that I don't need and hardware that LInux may not support.

So, any recommendations both the motherboard and where to buy it? Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Jim.

AT7-MAX series have 4 port IDE RAID for ~£50 these days no legacy ports so maybe not ideal for you?

There are PATA raid versions of most Abit motherboards, at least the Via chipset ones. Something like a Kx7-333R or a KD7R should be pretty cheap.

The KX7-333R is meant to be a very nice board, as is the KD7R, i dont now if you can get them anywhere new though.....

Should be easy enough to pick up a KX7-333R on eBay, and I'd agree that it was a very nice board, a friend of mine is running his server from one at the moment and its solid as a rock.
For joy, apparently, it was all Franny could do to hold the phone, even with both hands.
