need a new psu, what's the best??

i have a 350 watt one, but i have more drives and bigger cpu now so need more power. i have 3 hdd's, 2 cd rom, 1 floppy drive and 4 case fans.

my nf7s v2 mobo only has to fan plugs.

whats the best and hopefully quietest??

and not to much cash either!

Antec are widely regarded as the best. CWT are also suspected of being rebranded antecs, they are cheaper.

Else you are looking at enermax (NOT emermax!)

They are really the best two.

It recommended that 400watt+ is sufficient, 500watt+ is a bit OTT.

i've got 2 of these and have used them in other systems faultlessly.look here its the WinPower - 550W Silent/FMA with single 120mm fan,i sold both my antec 380w and 430w for these as they are much better imho, almost totally silent, very stable rails and cheap, both are powering heavily overclocked nf7-s' with all the extra gubbins

the best PSU's are PC Power and Cooling, followed by enermax/vantec etc. however they are about twice the price of any PSU you have ever seen before... (roughly £200!!) so it kind of takes your 'and not too expensive' out of the equation.

Enermax/vantec are probably the best without going into crazy money and are plenty good enough, and still 100 times better than non branded CWT from scan are meant to be good value rebadged (enermax?) PSU's though i have not seen them personally.

Hypers are very good PSUs. Coolermaster recomend them for uses with their cases.

yeah, but they're rebadged "A" units, whereas the CWT units you get here seem to be "B" units, from what I read in some review somewhere...

    ...still good PSUs though.

Thermaltakes are very good also. Very stable psu, and quite a bargain. I bought a 420W jobbie from dabs for less than £50.

The 350watt enermax dual fan with speed controller built in for 40£ i thought was a good deal. Works like a charm , looks the part to with its gold fan grills
