    thanks acrobat mate...i'm thinking of this direct connection idea as it'll guarantee good speeds without the worry of losing signal.

    Erm, on second thoughts, don't answer those questions mate..lol...&#163;260!!!!! Thats a rip-off for only a 40gb player..might as well stick with a pc which can do tons more.

    i know mate, but a laptop can be carried around though....also i can use removable media such as large capacity usb stick or an external hard disk to get around such issues.

    i'm still thinking though
