Not sure about this but I think cling film could leave a slight residue.

The residue (invisible to the naked eye, as are body oil deposits) gives clingfilm it's clingy properties.

I think. Can anyone clarify?

Oh interesting, never seems to affected me, but I'm open to a method change although I'm normally strapping my vapo onto silicone heastsink compound.

Prolly does have some residues, but tbh it's not as if it's being applied in a hemetically sealed container so theres all sorts of contaminants around. I'll use clear plastic bag tho it thats better

However, clear plastic bags (like the ones you put your sarnies in) are probably less in contaminants than clingfilm.

Don't want to get too pernicketty, it was just a thought.
