I went into a Doctor's surgery the other day and there was a small electric heater on the table at the back. It had a sign next to it saying "WARNING - THIS HEATER IS HOT".
Regarding Logitech, surely this is open to abuse as you can get a new product whenever you fancy it. You've lost nothing by smashing up your older model.
Probably went along the lines of "Hard end not to come into contact with soft tissue"
I would have thought, more significant is the fact that you can take several pictures rom different angles, smash it up some more, take more pictures, etc, then buy a new camera, ask for another RMA and send the other pics you took of the smashed camera. 3 for the price of 2!
Hey, I've no complaints about Logitech's customer service. I just thought the hammer instruction was a bit bonkers. Hmmmm, I might run it over with the car though...
BTW, you gotta love the way ARM's mind works.
Of course, the other thing you could do for laughs is put together a CSI style autopsy report for your now deceased webcam, include as many pictures and descriptions as you can within that filesize limit
Smash it, claim a piece of loose shrapnel hit you in the eye and sue the pants off them for not giving you proper instructions on safe disposal of hardware. <nod> <wink>
Ingenius. You have my thanks for a good laugh, glad you shared with us .
Smashing with a hammer doesn't sound very environmentally friendly.
It also doesn't sound as much fun as putting it in a vice and attacking it with a 12" angle grinder.
All in all it sounds a bit pointless to me
Well, true to their word, Logitech sent me a replacement webcam. Great turnaround too. I emailed them the final details on Saturday and the webcam arrived today.
I reckon I'll get smashing at the weekend...
