    Corsair 450 VX series
    Webbie Details

33 amps on a single 12 volt rail.
With the money saved put it towards a QuadCore 6600 from which you will benefit for your video encoding.

Also change the Dominator ram, its a pair of these but charge you £20.00 for a fancy cooling cover.

That gives you around £40 towards the Q6600.

    Happy hunting.

System power consumption rates has pretty much plateaued or dropped since the Pentium 4 Prescott. For e.g. my 4 year old 420W Tagan is still powering my new Core 2 Duo, and nVidia 8800GTS card without breaking a sweat, for modest business use, you'd never use more than maybe 150W.

if you are only using it for general buriness use you could save quite ab it on the graphics card by simply buying something like this

    http://amazon.co.uk/ATI-Powercolor-H...rd_i=350613011

its got directx10 (which is graphics encoding software used in new games and primarily on windows vista) you will not need it for business use but that card will work with vista or win xp and put a picture on your screen unless you are using graphics software of some kind then any graphics card will do for readinf pdf files and typing documents

I've decided to go for the Q6600 instead of the E6850 and the corsair 520w psu.

Doesn't the cooling cover help in any way? is there any differenace in the memory you mentioned.

    Thanks

standard video editing or advanced stuff if you are gonna use anything like cad then a really good card. for standard video editing the ati card i suggested would be fine

by standard video editing i mean home movies and such of your camcorder editing cutting out the bits you dont want

generally in the past although i havent tried the new ati 2000 series the ati cards always have had a better quality of performance for dvd/video usage

most are pretty good i like gainward as my preference but xfx evga and bfg are highly regarded

any of the above will be good its more a case of price and clock speeds as they are all clocked to different speeds
