For ten quid more, you can get the Jeantech Phong 2 (http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/pro...H/JNH70/570554) - very good case for the money.
This hot girl came over to myspace last night, she twittered my yahoo till I
googled all over her facebook. Ask Jeeves...

    System 1: Intel i5-2500k OC STABLE @5.05ghz with a ThermaTake Frio (air power!), 8Gb 1600 (9-9-9-24) R3 Patriot G2 RAM, nVidia GTX980TI ;

Re: Im building a Gaming PC

The Xblade case wont cause you problems if you are really dead set on it, but you should consider that cases like that look a lot less bling and a lot more tacky once they arrive and you can actually see it. Just trust me on that. Oh ok i bought this lol.

Everybody's perceptions are different of course so if you really like the Xblade...

Vista: Home Premium Upgrade. You get the 32-bit disc, but can upgrade to 64-bit just by asking. Buy it on Ebay for around £60. You don't even need a copy of XP to use the upgrade: http://www.windowssecrets.com/comp/070201#story1

Thats sounds a little too good to be true. Does that definatly work ok? no hidden catches anywhere?

i.e in 6 months time microsoft arent going to have a way of blocking access to people who have done this?

Well then just get a bargain basement EBay OEM XP. Still won't cost as much as the retail. But I don't see how MS would be able to tell once it's installed.

Re: Im building a Gaming PC

The PSU you specced in the opening post is absolute poo.

You can go for a 500W Bluestorm or a 400W Liberty for that price.
For another tenner you can get a Corsair or 500W Liberty which are far superior.

Re: Im building a Gaming PC

Logitech are a good bet but you won't get a decent keyb & mouse for less than £20. I would recommend this for £37.02 but it is more than double your budget!

However these are cheap and good value:

    Microsoft FA6-00006 Natural Ergonomic Value Pack 4000 Wired Keyboard, PS2/USB 1/2.0, 800dpi Optical = £23.49

Microsoft B2L-00045 Comfort Curve 2000 Wired Keyboard, USB 1.1/2.0, 800dpi Optical Mouse, Black £14.09

    Logitech 967561-0120 Comfort D'top EX110 Cordless Keyboard, PS2/USB 1/2.0, 800dpi Optical Mouse, Blk £17.94

As for the case I'd still go for an Akasa Zen. Great value and some excellent reviews. The Jeantech Phong was also highly rated by CustomPC but can't say I have read any other reviews of this case.

If it were me I'd buy the OEM version of Vista 64bit. (£69.17 from Scan)

I actually bought a Trust optical mouse from Asda for under a fiver as a quick temporary measure as my Logitech had gone wonky. Bit big, but am actually quite pleased with it, and am not in any hurry to replace it now.

I should point out that I play a lot of World of Warcraft with that Trust mouse. I found it oversensitive at first and fell off a few ledges & cliffs, but find the extra turning speed useful now I am used to it.

Re: Im building a Gaming PC

I have the comfortcurve 2000 and I love it - I actually bought another for my second pc. However, a lot of my friends that are used to normal keyboards without the slight curve dont like it. I got used to it pretty quickly and I havent had any reliability problems with either keyboard or mouse.

I got a £5 Trust off amazon and it kept glitching up to the top corner of the screen and spinning me around in games. It was worth the risk for a fiver, but Ive steered clear of them since as Im fairly sure anything from Logitech or Microsoft will work. Glad you got a good one though.
