Fujitsu Hard Drive in Tecra M3 Lappy

    Hi folks,

I've just been asked to ghost a toshiba latop hard drive (40 GIG) onto an 80 Gig Fujitsu.

The ghost has taken fine and both look identical (in terms of contents) when slaved on a desktop.

When the fujitsu is installed on the Tecra, the message "read error" appears before the boot process has a chane to begin and that's it - nothing else happens...

A colleague told me that Toshiba Lappys have aversions to particular brand/spec hard-drives although I've not been able to find evidence of this on the web yet...

Does anybody know of any reasons why this could be happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Akira.

Rather than 'ghosting' the drive, try cloning it instead.

Sorry, i meant clone - the ghost floppy we have allows a direct disk copy - I'm assuming this is the same? Thanks, Akira.
