Here are the E2140 and E2160 as well as the E2180 I mentioned before from SCAN.

Which I guess puts the E2160 in the best performance for value seat.

I can't believe they got 3ghz out of it. Seems that the E2160 is the way to go.

Some people are getting 3.2-3.4GHz out of the 2140s, but it's really hit and miss.

The 2160s and 2180 regularly do over 3GHz on moderate air.

the cache is only 512kb on them. but there still better the the 4000 range?

I'm sure I read someware that the e2xxx were suposed to have only half the L1 cache as well as L2 but it looks like it's only the L2. remembering that the latest e6xxx series have double again the L2 cache

The e2xxx series have, 32kb per core L1 cache and 1mb shared L2 cache
The e4xxx series have, 32kb per core L1 cache and 2mb shared L2 cache
The older e6xxx series have, 32kb per core L1 cache and 2mb shared L2 cache
The newer e6xxx series have, 32kb per core L1 cache and 4mb shared L2 cache
