4 x 1GB GeIL PC6400C4 ULL on P5B DLX/WIFI. BIOS only sees 3008MB ?

I've just got another 2 x 1GB PC6400C4 for my PC and have installed in in my P5B Deluxe/WIFI (with WIFI disabled), but the BIOS only sees 3008MB. I have tried the new sticks on there own and in each of empty slots, and it still sees 3008MB so both sticks look OK.

I'm using the latest BIOS 1216.

Any ideas ?

BTW, is it normal for 3 x 1GB sticks to show up as 3008MB in BIOS ?

I think that's normal, it's a limmit of 32bit computing, it should detect as 4gb in vista /xp 64bit versions.

Although I'm not sure that that applies to the BIOS

Surely the BIOS should show the full amount. I'm running XP Pro x64 and it only shows up as 2.93GB (ie. 3008MB).

Herrrm very odd, the p5b is up to 8gm of ram so it should be able to find it, cannot say I've heard of this before.

We need to poke someone with a p5b and 4x1gb memory.

I did read those sections in the beginning of the user guide and saw that it supported up to 8GB, but it doesn't mention I need to enable the memory remap feature. After enabling the memory remap in the BIOS, I now see all glorious 4096MB in the BIOS and 4.00GB under System Properties in XP x64
