Question Thermaltake Butterfly PSU in a Midi Case

I've been looking at the ThermalTake Butterfly PSU (the one with all the snazzy lights lol), and in one review of it I noticed that the cables were extremely long, and there was loads of cables, most of wich people wouldn't use. I've got an Antec SUPERLanBoy, a pretty decent alu case with a window. I don't know if it's worth buying the CPU, as the cables may make it look extremely messy inside Does anybody have any knowledge? Or have actually got one so I can have a look? Also, does anybody know whether they are good PSU's for overclocking? Thanks for your help!

Thermaltake psus are generally rock-solid stable bricks of psu, with good lines etc.. lovely for overclocking/stability, etc. Not sure I like the look of the new butterfly models, though... they're a bit bling like the T-take cases, and all that malarkey.

If you're worried about all the cables messing up your case, you could always get rid of them - ie, cut them off + heatshrink the ends or de-solder them. This will definitely void any warranty, however.

Ok cool thanks. I might just go for the Thermaltake Xaser Silent Purepower 480W, without the fancy lights and without the extra long cables and just put lights in my case. Thanks for that info anyways.

I have a 420W purepower, and it's absolutely cracking, chap. Great psu, and a snatch at >£50 from dabs.com
