    Re: Overclocking E6750

QDR just means "Quad Data Rate" its the Industry term for "Quad Pumped" FSB, so for instance your 1333Mhz FSB runs at 333Mhz according to your BIOS, see different motherboards ask for different input, like for instance my 680i asks for QDR FSB which is *actual* FSB speeds so when I want to overclock my e6600 from 1066Mhz FSB I select 1333 whereas most motherboard (Gigabyte, Abit, Asus, and others) ask for *Pre-QDR* speeds such as 333 for 1333 or 400 for 1600 (Mhz).

So for your motherboard you're going to have to multiply your FSB setting by 4 to get your *QDR (actual) FSB* so if you set at 400 just multiply it by 4 and you have an actual FSB of 1600Mhz QDR.

Good luck, have fun, and you're welcome =)

    Overclocked it..

ok so to continue from asking about doing it, to doing it. im now on stock volts and a stock cooler with the clock at 3.25Ghz and the FSB at 1625Mhz. But now if i try up it at all it just wont boot or gives me the blue screen of death, so i figured, give the vcore a bit more juice. so i upped it by the smallest increment but it still wouldnt run. ive checked everest ultimate and at idle the cores are at 27 and 28 degrees at full load theyre both at 50-51. so im guesing its not too hot. does anyone have any ideas what it could be?? also does anyone know of a graphics card overclocking tool that works with vista 64-bit??

    thanks, rich

    Re: Overclocking E6750

Your Temps reported by Everest are probably from your motherboard sensor which is most likely going to be cooler than the actual CPU core. To check your Core temperature you need to get Intel's Thermal Analysis Tool (TAT) or Core Temp.

You will also need to add 15oC onto the values from TAT or Core Temp 0.95, the new beta version of Core Temp 0.95.4 has this already factored in.

    Re: Overclocking E6750

no it moitors motherboard, core temp, and cpu temp seperately. ive tried core temp but vista wouldnt let me use it as it says it is an unsigned driver, does it work with 64 bit?? everest is good isnt it?
