What processor and RAM do they have?

I've used a 17" Acer and it only had a Sempron processor + 512MB Ram, very underpowered it was.

Go for the 15", it has a better GFx processor and a smaller screen so will handle games better.

it would be easier to decide if the gfx card in the 15" was in the 17" :0

Depends what you're doing with it.

Assuming everything else is equal, get the 15" for games, the 17" for 2D work. The 8400M sucks.

    Re: which to get :0

Definitely the smaller unless you need the screen real estate - 17" laptops are so cumbersome - only be considered a DTR...

    Re: which to get :0

i'd say go with the smaller one, 17's are like previously mentioned, are usually DTR machine, as a result the battery life is usually horrid.
