Anyone useing a MSI P35 Neo2 ??

I've got this Motherboard to replace my old ASRock core2 VSTA motherboard.

Must say so far I'm impressed with it, was a little worried over my memory when I first turned it on and it power cycled 5 times, then came up with a memory speed error message.
I found out that what it does is automatiaclly try differnt memory voltages untill it finds one that works, a nice feature

The BIOS is nice and easy to use, with all the overclocking settings in one nice section.

Speaking of which I'm wondering if anyone else has used/useing this motherboard and if they played with/used the DOT & Dual core center?

DOT is an automatic "Dynamic OverClocking" feature in the BIOS, It's supposed to increase the CPU/memory/pci-e frequencies to given values as demands on them increase.
Dual core center, is your standard motherboard manufactor's "ugly" skined windows hardware monitor Utility. But comes with the added fuction of being able to adjust the DOT bios settings on-the-fly from within windows (also fan speeds and voltages)

Just wondering if anyone else uses it and if it's any good?
At the moement I've just manually slapped the FSB up to 333 to get my e6600 up to 3ghz and the memory at it's stock 400 (which the motherboard has deturming works best at 1.9v)

I've run TAT and Orthos for 20min each, no errors and the Thermalright Ultima90 with 92mm Zalman fan (running at 1500rpm) Idel temps 27.5/29.5, Load temps 45/46

Good enough, I was about to get this board, but hearing so much about ASUS I had to try it, I did go check out the MSI, it was a tad too expensive and I hadnt heard much about it then, so taking no chances, I went with the ASUS, Im pretty happy with it, nice to you the MSI is working out good for you too

At £67 it was one of the cheaper P35 boards and I'm a sucker for copper heatsinks and heatpipes

Going to see how much I can push it once I get it back into my case, I'm currently haveing to use my old El-cheapo case atm untill I can get around to takeing my drimmel to my server case again (the USB ports on the back are slightly too tall for the IO hole with the time and money I've spent on this case, buying a antec 900 would of been eaiser, but not as much fun)

I have this board and it has been quite good and user friendly. It does cycle on and off a few times on a cold boot but this plagues most P35 boards. I have had one major problem with it tho. It is picky with power supplies It will not boot up with a coolermaster M700 pro psu I tried 2 of them with different etailors. In the end went with a corsair HX620 and this works fine.

MSI motherboards have a (IMO deserved) reputation for being less than stellar on the stability front. I cannot see any reason for favouring them over a top-tier manufacturer like Asus or Abit.

I have had boards from MSI, Abit and Asus and stability has been just as good or bad as each other but I find MSI boards tend to be a bit cheaper.

I can only speak from my experience. My brother has had several MSI boards over the years, and every single one was picky about what it would work with. During the same period I've had one issue with an ASUS board and none with Abit. He doesn't buy MSI any more.
