Twinmos RAM (without Winbond chips) seems to have problems with nForce boards (not sure about this Asus though). So watch out for that

can you be more specific (which manuf chips have problems?) i have found winbond and samsung and m.tec chips to work very nicely on my nf7-s, and have tryed twinmos branded and non-twinmos branded of each (apart from winbond).

soundstorm has had lots of driver problems, but none serios enuf for me to bother changing drivers for it once. the problem is caused by EAX and A3D sound acceleration, and caused muchly degraded sound quality. there are some drivers that dont, but i have yet to find out hich version numbers they are (cos i once did know, but have forgot). i dont use EAX or A3D, i mainly play cs, and they make it more dificult to judge where people are from the sound. also the south bridge chip can get hot and its recommended to stick a heatsinnk on it to help aviod these problems. apart from that the board is fine although i have heard it lacks in overclocking ability (fsb)

Still recommended to use the MS IDE drivers rather than the nVidia ones.
Of course if you go for SATA drives that isn't a problem anyway.

Soundstorm via SPDIF is excellent, via analogue ac '97 codec less good.
As has been said there can also be EAX problems with certain drivers but EAX is Creative's intellectual property & if they don't want other people using it....
