    I have an antec 900 case and it makes a low hum when its on not silent but when i play music, dvds, games etc I cant hear it over the sound from my speakers.

    Which hard drives do you have? I find that along with my CPU cooler, my HDD makes the most noise in my system, as it resonates through the enclosure. This is just with them powered on, not when accessing it.

    Surely your case has quite a bit to do with the noise level. Don't antec 900s have a 20cm fan on the top of them? That will be letting a lot of sound out. Do you have your pc on your desk? Maybe try putting it on the floor or some rubber pads?

    i have two maxtor 250gb hard drives.
    antec 900 cases do have a 20cm fan on the top.
    i have pc on top of two speakers. so its off the floor but not on my desk.

    i found some options in the bios to change fan speeds.
    its quieter now.
    i may change the gpu fan still dont know yet.
    i did notice that i forgot to clean the 20cm fan so i will clean that tomorrow.
    i might try putting the computer on the floor to see if it makes any difference.

    Nope, never been one for FPS gaming. This was on Oblivion, playing through the Shivering Isles expansion because I've never really had a PC capable to play it before and finally got around to a reinstall.
