would anyone be willing to tell me how much i could recoup off of a 2 month old Hiper HPU 4M 580, and perhaps if it's in site rules tell me where the best place to sell it would be?

wait until 100 posts and sell it in the forums here
I assume we are duty bound to suggest using the forums own selling section..
That said I can think of a one very obvious one.. Ebay.
The problem with Hiper is most of us avoid them like the plague
I'd knock a good 30% off what you paid, the one I can see on ebay is £30..
paid 50 for it... i was hoping to get around 25/30 for it, just to make that Corsair upgrade a bit cheaper... but i've got a deal to get an Antec 900 in the pipes, and that'll cost me about 50, so i will be pretty starved for cash if i try doing too many things at once...
why oh why is the hiper crossfire certified if it so poor? i keep thinking to myself, what if this thing tanks today? certainly throw a hissy fit, i will...
I don't think ATI does the certification for PSUs like that... The manufacturer is claiming that it will work with crossfire (enough watts and enough power connectors)
but surely it'd have to get some sort of ATI approval, right?
Some people actually get along quite nicely with them but they do have a tendancy to errupt into a fireworks show lol.
Thankfully they don't usually take anything with them so you can rest a little easier knowing that
here i am trying to put on an angry faced smiley and your raunchy "go for it" smiley is making me laugh . ah well, that is some consolation, staffs... hopefuly i can eke out a bit of cash during the holidays, and save up for a couple of upgrades to be done... then i can slap in the uber cool HX620 and any vidoe card that makes sense
Damb it I've just spotted you managed to get one of the nice gecube 3870 I wanted one of thoes but they seem to have dissaperaed off the face of the earth (in the UK anyway)
I seem to remember that the older Hippers were quite good, it was the later ones that started going pop, they suckered people in with a good build to start with then dropped the quality and hope no one would notice.
if you're plannign on going crossfire with that overclock probably best to stick with the 620 but at the same time the 520 and still power a heck of a lot of stuff.
Hiper was a lesson to us all. Lots of bling, and it all looked good on the surface, but their PSUs just don't last if you use them 24/7. And I had a lot of crashes on my UK system that disappeared once the Hiper was replaced by an Enermax.
. considering the amount of use this system has been seeing, i'll need to swap it out before 6 months is up... so i can expect say 25, 30 quid for this?
lol... and yeah, Pob - i managed to find the card quite by accident on an Ebuyer deal of the day- cost £130... quite pleased with it; it OCs like a dream, but powerful enough to do wat i want it to... that said, i do want to upgrade, wink wink nudge nudge ... dunno why they've all disappeared, though - they're real good cards.
