I've just bought a Geforce 5900XT. I was wandering, what does "engineers release" mean at the system start-up?
Should I keep it enabled or have it disabled with a BIOS update?

is that on the gfx card bios? might just mean the manuf was too lazy to edit the bios properly, might mean you are lucky (are gf5 cards locked in any way?) or it might mean your pc will crash randomly ue to dodgy nvidia prerelease bios versions
Its appears as soon as i turn the computer on. I needed to know whether i should update the BIOS or not? I updated it and there's been an improvement.
Got around 12800 in 3DMark 2001SE before update, now getting around 13200.
Not a big jump but its noticeabe.
thats all your getting? isnt fx5900 one of nvidias best cards??!?!...
We don't know the rest of his system yet though.
its a 5900XT, it's clocked less than the 5900 so it can be sold cheaper.
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (not Version 2)
1024MB PC3200 Samsung Memory
AMD 2500+ Barton @ 1.84GHz
Gigabyte Geforce FX 5900XT 128MB
that's virtually identical to mine and I get over 16,000 with a radeon 9500 pro..

And set the image quality to performance rather than quality.

I've did what you said but i only got 13380 3D Marks. Thats only an extra 200. Coz the 5900XT is an underclocked 5900, do you think I could overclock my card to a 5900?
