Cheap PSU, HD and dvdrw please

    Hey guys.

Building a rig for the GF so she can muck about editing her videos for youtube.

So far it's got most of my old parts.

    Asus A8N32SLi Deluxe

    AMD X2 4600

    3GB DDR400 2x1GB GIEL 2x512MB Generic

    HIS X1950 Pro * getting BFG 8800GTS THIS week !! *

    Creative X-Fi Audio

Now it needs a cheap HD, sata or ide is fine, a basic cheap psu, and dvdrw, and if someone could find me a bargain new tft under £100 17inch minimum would suit me great as this won't be used for gaming just video editing.

Re: Cheap PSU, HD and dvdrw please

The PSU nis critical to good operation of your computer, so I suggeest you don't want a cheap PSU. Look at Seasonic, Corsair, Tagan.

As for drives, all are pretty cheap - try Samsung from Scan - and a basic DVDRW will cost between £14 and £20 from the same source. (They also stock PSUs)

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

If you're putting an 8800GTS in, then this will do nicely: Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

I'm currently using it to run my system, very quiet and should be able to handle almost all single GPU systems.

If it's not for gameing then a 8800gts is totally pointless! editing video is done by the CPU and system memory not the graphics card.
And I doubt you need the X-Fi audio for you tube clips
That should of saved you £150

    £100 19" tft
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

PSU any half decent 400w should be fine (esp without the 8800gts)
Hard to beat the corsair VX450w for quality and price @ £45
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Hard drive more difficult, but again if we're talking youtube it's hardly hour long, high def epics so probably any half decent 250gb should be more than enough £35-40

DVDrw, they are pritty much of a muchness, under £20
