Abit NF7-S or Asus A7N8X Deluxe for the mobo. Its what everyone reccomends, and for good reason - they are both top boards.

Thermal Take Volcano 12 Extreme will do you proud for the CPU cooler.

Artic VGA Cooler or Zalman ZM80C heatpipe cooler with option 80mm fan for the card.

    I've got an NF7-S V2.0 with a Volcano 12 so I wouldn't argue.
Might as well get the HIS 9800 pro with the Arctic cooler as standard (saves voiding warranty).

I would recommend the Sapphire Radoen 9800 Pro. I got a huge overclock with it, I might be just lucky. I got 474MHz core and 361MHz mem speed from it. Its also quite cheap compared to Leadtek and Gigabyte.

I heard a lot of good things from the Asus board, but a lot of people are having problems with the Abit in their Forums. But maybe that was with the Revision before 2.0. I am not sure, just thought Id mention it :-)

    Otherwise everything looks really good.

PS: If you consider watercooling than I would recommend the innovatek Rev. 2 cooler or the Aqua Computer <---very expensive but good.

I would not recommend a Cooler which needs to be glued (2 component) on the card as the removal cause the death of my old 9700 Pro

I had a Leadtek WinFast 250UltraTD once. It was based on a old GeForce 4 TI4600 ....I was very happy with it. Exept that the Software Temp sensor never worked. But other than that it was very good.

why are you going for PC4000 ram? PC3200 or PC3500 at most should be more than sufficient IMHO.

Got the Antec 660AMG - nice case, well put together, nice spec and looks the part. Only quibble is the lack of space but the 1080'll put that right. Not sure about going for 4000 ram when you can get TwinX 2x512mb sticks of Corsair 3200LL at CPU City for £160 (or even 2x256 3200 Twinmos at overclockers for 50ish).

If you are getting a SATA HDD then you need a motherboard with SATA support. The NF7 doesn't have it, the NF7-S does. As does the Asus A7N8X Deluxe.

I recently bought the Antec Plusview 1000AMG and its just a cracking case. Theres plenty of room inside, its very sturdy and offers great cooling solutions. I've made use of all 5 slots and immediately saw a drop in case + cpu temps of 10 degrees from my old case (only 2 fan slots). Definately recommended.

May i recommend the DFI infinity motherboard... Hexus, firingsquad and Hardocp all list this as the no.1 Athlon motherboard......It's like an nf7-s but with 4 sata ports and higher overclocks.....cpucity.co.uk do them for £69

some reviews...lanparty B is same as infinity except it comes with cables bundle, funky colour and gigabit lan
