    Motherboard Problem

I have an ASUS P48X-X Motherboard, its about a year old. Yesterday for some odd reason the USB ports stopped working. The only USB ports which work are the ones on a cheap Ebuyer PCI card.

Does anyone know whats going on?

Have you changed anything in your system in the last couple of days either software or hardware changes, or have you moved the actual PC somewhere as you may have knocked the usb cables going into your mobo header. Or some new software may have messed about with it in windows.

Changes in the past few days have been:

Moved the motherboard to new case
New ATI Radeon 128 MB Graphics cards, and new Drivers
    New Rounded IDE Cables

Thats about it. I cant really see whats wrong with it, maybe I could of damaged the mobo when I moved it from my old case, and slightly forced it in.

I dunno what to do now

Looks like I need a new Mobo, no USB ports work, and the slave IDE doesnt work either.

I think I might get the Abit IC-7 mobo

I suffered a similar thing recently. MSI K7N2 board, one USB port, both PS2 ports & Raid controller packed up. Mind you, that full glass of red wine over the keyboard probably didn't help

Fortunately for me, I actually bought this thing from PC World, who didn't even question the refund they gave me.

    Sometimes ya just get lucky.

    memo: don't forcethings.

Good luck with the new build.
