You're right, looking at the tech specs both the BFG cards from Scan and Dabs are the same:

    dabs.com - BFG Graphics GeForce 8800GTS 512MB GDDR3 PCIE Dual DVI (BFGR88512GTSE)
    £167.39

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    £163.31

Of course neither have one in stock yet....

I'll get mine from Scan as I get free delivery.

I think this is the card to go for so good call.

I answered your question above but to be clear:

I've not ordered mine yet - still waiting. I'll chase up and try and find an ETA.

Do you want mine for 173 pounds? Demand/supply?

This card overclocks really nice. I have mine at 750/2120 stable.

    You don't enter a code.

You have to link your HEXUS account to a Scan account:

Matt you basically got the same as what i got going on. Abit boards are good but the standard heatsinks i.e. the mosfet heatsink does not diserpate heat fast enough had temps round 85, anyone else got an abit board (i prefer ABit to Gigabyte)

p.s. why not spend a little money and get the 9 series

Not sure, but I just tried logging in with my forum details and it wouldn't let me, so I think you have to register again for that bit.

I want the 8 series because it uses less power and the 9 isnt THAT much faster anyway.

Re: New Build - What Board & Ram?

I agree. The 8800GTS OC is actually faster than a 9800GTX and uses less power. The following articles are worth a read.
