No EZ-Cool but I do have a still working Qtec, yes shock it still works
I powered my Socket A athlon xp2400+ and 6800LE (pipes unlocked and overclocked) with 4 hard drives, floppy, cd-rom and Fujitsu optical disk drive.
I did open it up and steal one of the fans out of it (they are not too bad for 80mm fans)
I just use it to test fans now. but I can make it available
one of the gold coloured oones, 2 80mm fans think it's stated wattage is 350w I'd have to dig it out and check.

any spelling or typeing mistakes courtasy of half a bottle of GIN!

it's been one of thoes weeks

I wonder if this PSU can make it to 100w without going boom?

Re: Request: EZ-Cool and Q-tec units

NO idea on the exact make but it's one of thoes ones that had the 2nd internal fan on the outside.
but at the same time you cannot fully trust that as there no idercation as to how it was loaded
eg did they try to put 755 total wattage across a single rail? try putting 335w on the 3.3v rail of a corsair vx450 and it'll die.
However the over current protection should kick and shut it self off not explode.

Read up on jonnyguru for some in depth testing of psu's

basically I'll trust a corsair psu not to blow up and take stuff with it but I'd never fully trust an advert to be unbiased.

Someone on jonny mentioned 220w as max for a 600w branded EZCool, so don't expect much more than that.

Check out this pdf, it's about the same test as the video:http://corsair.com/_appnotes/AN805_W...l_purchase.pdf

Re: Request: EZ-Cool and Q-tec units

Has anyone bought a case with an included PSU, but replaced the PSU? They would be interesting to test, too. Not sure if it's already been mentioned but you might find this article interesting: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...=Story&reid=71

Re: Request: EZ-Cool and Q-tec units

    Received any PSUs yet, Agent?

And, can anyone read the digits printed on the transformer on the Corsair video? That would lead us to the mfr...
