ST61G4 Disk Boot Error, help !!

Got hold of my new ST61G4 couple of days ago.

Intel P4 2.8Ghz (800 FSB)
120 gb Seagate Sata (ST3120026AS)
512mb Kingston HyperX
LG DVD +/- R/RW

Problem ....

Managed to install XP but on reboot, I'm getting the error "Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk".

I tried to re-install XP, managed to create two raw partitions but unable to proceed to next step with the erroe that XP does not reconize the disk format.

Tried to run Seagate's disk diagnostics called "Seatool", but the disk was not reconized as its a SATA.

Anyone come across these errors and how do I resolve it ?

nop....if you use the bios in its standard configuration, it will automatically try to search for the IDE drives. You need to indicate to the bios that there is no IDE drive so that it does not try to search for it.
