Scanner problems

Hi, my father is having problems with his scanner and I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. All his scanned images appear ok in the peview but are scanned in negative when he presses the copy button. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the settings. I don't live near him so can't just pop over and have a look.

He has a Canoscan 4400F.

I would try uninstalling, then reinstalling the software - latest available to download from here (choose appropriate OS).

This would take settings to default values, & may solve the problem.
