Re: Some of the finest Hardware for your money...

I think you are the one who needs to re read your post.

You start off by saying this is the hardware for you if money is not an object, then you say it's the best value for money, then you say it's for people who want the best performance in gaming. So what is it, it can't be all 3?

This is still complete overkill for a 22" monitor. You can still play all games on max settings, on that monitor with that framerate for half the money (including a good sized monitor). Just because it's overkill doesn't mean you are going to get any better performance.

Also, why are you getting a £220 case? If it's all about performance and not about eye-candy, you could play on a computer for half the price of yours at a great frame rate, but without all the visual treats. I don't really understand what you are on about tbh.

I never said 24+ is not good for gaming, I said that it is more expensive and you would need to spend a lot more on a GPU as well... I said that the 22" is standard, if you goto Lan parties, a lot of people use 22"....

And I never implied that "eye candy" was a bad thing, I separated the two into two categories, and I said that if people wanted to see beautiful features then they should upgrade to a larger monitor and they should also upgrade their GPU.

I know for a fact that none of you have read my post entirely, if you had, you wouldn't be acting so rude and offensive towards me, because you'd see that I am giving an unbiased review of items and offering people solutions to fit their needs from the information that I've picked up in my hours of study.

lol how is it getting on your nerves, if you're that stressed about it then don't read the thread? And yes some people do play for fun, and some people play competitively, did you ever think about it that way? I never neglected the fun aspect, but you seem to neglect the competitive aspect.

That's precisely why I said "if money isn't an option" because of the case and i7 setup... However, if money is slightly an option, I explained how you could easily save yourself over £500 by substituting the i7 and case... etc...

I've covered everything for everyone, so I think you haven't read it, as I already said.

    Easy tigers..

I can't actually be bothered to read the OP but have you built this now?

If not just edit it with pics when you have

Me and Rob have discussed this PC at length, I accept he couldn't be swayed and I'm sure he realises it's a bit overkill. It's his money though and he could have spent a lot more without gaining anything..

lol no Mike, most of the items was going to get are out of stock so I was customizing my order to get it without having to wait.

The original post was to help anyone who was stuck like I was, so that they wouldn't have to spend the weeks of researching that I spent... I was hoping it would be a one-stop shop for them to see what high-quality hardware looks like, and how they could get an amazing gaming rig for under £1000... Because before I came here, I didn't know it was possible. But thanks to you, and everyone elses help, I saw it was. And so I hoped that by making this thread I would help others come to that realization much sooner than I did...

However, for some unknown reason, people have taken this thread the wrong way, and haven't appeared to have read it, and are saying I'm arrogant and that the products I listed don't make sense, etc...

Yet I've shown full details and reviews so that people could easily read and see how these items are fair-price and high quality, making a great rig for relatively cheap. There's two options I made, one that would be an i7 with expensive case, for those who don't care about money, and I also said they could upgrade their monitor to the biggest one they could afford and buy 4870x2 if they wanted the top performance, for example... whereas I offered a less-pricey solution to those who want top-line without going over £1000...

Stop dismissing everyones posts because you think they haven't read yours, when I have...twice.

You are contradicting yourself, so lets clear this up.

Is this build for eye-candy, or for performance?

Re: Some of the finest Hardware for your money...

Well in my experience there are two types of people who buy expensive PC's

    1) silly people who need talking sense into

    2) people who want to buy expensive pc's.

Couldn't talk any sense into Rob so he must be a.. number 2 ..so to speak

We are very much used to cramming our percieved value for money PC's into the max budget. If the budget is simply too high for the PC's need's.. we lower it and save them money.

I don't see why people wanting to buy an expensive PC shouldn't post up questions and advice for others like them. Might save they signing up just to ask one question...

I'll actually read the thread at some point lol

If you look, then you'll see that it's offering both. If you want eye-candy you can change from X to Y...

If you want highest performance without spending £3000 then you can go with option Z...

If you want high performance without going over £1000 then you can go with option Q.

It's not contradicting, it isn't a single build, it's just options to consider.... this isn't a complete build, I don't know how to stress that further.

    lol thanks Mike...

If you do read the thread then please read the whole thing beginning to end, then it will make sense

I've actually gone to the E8400 now because I figure I will not make use of the CPU from the i7 personally, as I don't plan to play next-gen games any time soon, I stick to games like MMO's and CoD... right now my G5 is out of stock so I'm really struggling with my checklist.

It's not perfect over a 24", but it's a good compromise of performance and quality, considering LCD's are the way to go now... unless you want a 17" crt...
