Motherboard broke?

Just came back from uni and finally got to use my desktop again lol

Turned it on and it failed to even load bios up, and it was perfectly working when i left back in early october.

After bashing the reset button it booted into windows ok, then after a few minutes everything freezes and nothing works, but no blue screen...

This things keeps happening, sometimes it boots up ok, then screen freezes, or during boot up it stops and it even once when i was in bios it just froze again.

Does this mean it is my mobo that is screwed? or could it be something else?

E6600 stock
Asus P5N-E SLi 650i
2GB GEiL 850mhz 4-4-4-12
Sapphire 4850
X-Fi
250GB Seagate sata

I assume you have two sticks of RAM? Try with just 1, then the other.

Also, do you have a spare PSU to try?

Have you moved/kocked the computer at all? Check the CPU HSF is still seated correctly.

how old is the motherboard ? It could be failed capacitors. have you had a look to see if any are leaking? If not maybe try re-seating everything, Graphics card memory etc.

Yep had a go. Same thing still happens. =(

Anyone know how long Asus warranties are?

All the Asus mobos I just looked at on Scan were;

Duration: 36 months

Type: Return to base

DOA Period: 28 days

RTB Period: 36 months

So that's that's a three year warranty.

Just before I do, can anyone confirm they think the problem is caused by the mobo.
