    hard drive rated temp

Is anyone aware of a ruff value for operating temperatures of Hard disks? My seagate barracuda hit 49oC in my silent drive yesterday, I'm curious as to how much head room I have!!

unless u got ibm 60/75gxp drives most should be happy upto 65ºc, even if there rated lower like 55°c like maxtors. mine has ran at 50-62°c in a silent drive for about 5 months with no problems (maxtor d740x 40gb 2mb w/o fdb)

unless u had active cooling on ur hdd's b4 it went into silent drive i doubt there'd be more than 5-10°c difference
