    PATA to SATA adapter

I have got the following adapter but I am unsure how to use it. It has a 4 pin power cable that plugs into the white connector in the photo, I assume this will provide power to the adapter. I was thinking of plugging the PATA connector into socket on the motherboard then plugging the SATA cable to the SATA connector on the adapter. As you can see there are two of these SATA connectors on the adapter, I assume this means I can run 2 SATA devices using this adapter.

Are all my assumptions correct and will it be safe to connect up as I have described?

    Many thanks

    Re: PATA to SATA adapter

    Yup, should be.

I've not seen an adapter like that before, but I assume it puts one SATA drive on master and the other on slave. Good idea actually.

Where did you get it from? Could end up being quite useful. All the adapters I have are designed to connect a PATA drive to a SATA controller.
