    noisy psu help please

    i have a OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent(its not silent ) psu and its really noisy is there anything i can do to it or add to it to make it more quiet ,

    You could change the main fan but that can be dangerous!

    I've only just got round to fitting my 500 watt version of the same supply, and it's as quiet as a mouse. How long have you had it for ?

    about a year really high buzzing noise

    The heatsinks etc in the power supply have electricity even when the psu is unplugged.

    probably be better to get new psu if dusting out dont work
    any recomendations not worried about price as long as it lasts and is quiet need 600w

    I can vouch for Corsair Power Supplies through personal experience, however I have read that the Be Quiet! PSU's are hard to beat for performance & low noise.

    some good suggestions here if you can get away with a little less than 600w.
