I just received these headphones today and I can't for the life of me get the microphone to sound good. If I put the volume on max and boost the microphone by 30 dB then it becomes audible but the sound quality is atrocious.

I've tried it on 3 different machines (2 Vista, 1 XP) just to make sure it wasn't a sound card issue.

Is it safe to say that the microphone is faulty or am I missing something here? Apparently you can put the microphone on your clothing on attach it to a monitor and it will work flawlessly but so far, I can only make my voice audible if I literally put the microphone next to my lips.
