Lmao
I was planning on keeping mine for a year more at least but seeing alot of sff builds recently I was tempted to upgrade to an m-itx i5 setup. I resisted the urge to upgrade though because I figured the cost of going i5 wasn't worth it, I could just overclock my q6600. After trying to overclock it recently I found out my mobo cant go over 2.8ghz so guess what... I'm gonna be selling this baby in the summer and going m-itx with an i5 750 and hopefully a 5850:mrgreen:
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
Wish i had a q6600 g0:drool:
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
I only bought mine a few months ago, so not for a while yet :)
(Although i7 keeps on trying to tempt me lol)
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
just brought a Q6600 GO SACLR to replace E6600 and will be cool until the 12 cores come out :D
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
TBH, I don't think even sandy Bridge will tempt me to replace my Q6600. Maybe its successor.

Same here, the PC is for gaming and my current spec plays everything I throw at it with ease. Even with the CPU at stock speed, with it being a G0 stepping at least I can clock it to 3.2GHz in the future if need be. The time I change will be when the PC dies on its backside and 775 parts are not easily sourced :) The Q6600 is still a decent chip, runs hot yes but the performance is still there :)
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
I've got a Q6600 @ 3.4 GHz and an i7-980X clocked at 4.5 GHz. Performance-wise, as seen in real-world applications, my Q6600 has one-third of the total processing power of my 980X. If my 980X was stock clocked, the Q6600 would be about half as powerful. That's *very* impressive, considering it's a chip released at the beginning of 2007.
No doubt, the Q6600 was an awesome value CPU. :)
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
Mines running okay so far and I've not plans to change it until probably next year.
I do have mine clocked to the hilt, and once I get a new PC, this will be passed down the household so people stop hogging my god damn PC all the time :devilish:
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
Only recently got mine. Replaced my e6300 and seems to run cooler and at faster clock speed.

You can squeeze 1900MHz FSB out of that bad boy yet
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
Had my G0 for about a week then replaced it with a Q6700 G0 for the higher multi.
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
What VID do you guys have?
Mine is one of the higher VIDs at 1.3125v. :(
Got it on 3.3ghz with 1.372v idle and 1.352v/1.360v under load.

3.6ghz 1.5v haven't had a chance to fine tune the voltage yet tho.
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
I get raped by vdroop on my current mobo so i cant clock it up like i did on my IP35-E
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??
Think I'll keep mine for at least another year, still going strong at the moment
Re: How long do you intend to keep your Q6600 until??

TBH,hopefully I can get another year out of mine! :)
