ok looks like you've got a good one there

now raise the fsb a few(3-4) mhz at a time and stress test it to find any instabilities,prime95 and toast are both good as is 3d mark for finding game stability(the cpu tests stress the cpu well)

if it locks up or re-boots simply raise the cpu vcore one notch and try again, just make sure temperatures don't get out of control

I'd say get the FSB as high as it can go, while lowering the mulitplier. Once you can't get the FSB any higher, then try putting the multiplier up.

I don't think anybody mentioned Prime95 - it's a useful tool to test stability, just run the torture test.

    Update:

Thought some of you might want to know that after taking advice from all you people, I've now got my 1700+ clocked at 2.03Ghz without any overheating issues (around 38* at core with medium load).

    Medium load being:
    Windows XP
    MSN messenger
    Popup Stopper
    AIM messenger
    Internet
    2-3 Internet Explorer Windows

Heres my proof (I'm very proud of this ):

[Edit: And my PC Mark 2002 Score - Is this any good? Can anyone tell me?]

If he can't overclock further then it's more likely at the limit of the motherboard than the chip..
