    Don't you have to install on top of the previous version though, or can It be from an old pc

    Well the easiest thing would be to install the old version on your new HDD and activate it.

    Then install Win 7 but when prompted opt for the "clean install" which re-formats the HDD and then installs Win 7. Upgrade needs to "see" an activated copy of XP or Vista.

    Workarounds on the net don't always work, the above will every time.

    Where have you seen the full version for like £50?

    And currently in the process of sorting out windows!
