The BEST PSU for £45 ish?

I need the absolute best PSU that money can buy. Well, around £45. I think it's time to get rid of the generic 350W one in favour of something higher quality. THe fan's knackered anyway.

It needs to be quiet (well some noise I don't mind, but not some quadruple fan job with about a 9000dBA rating), but it doesn't need to have eleventy billion watts of power. A 380 - 400 watt one will be sufficient.

So, best PSU for £45... Ready... Set... Go!

I'd get a 450W CWT from Scan, £35. It's on special offer at the moment, few pounds cheaper (£32).

That's the one. A few people who have one say it stable and quiet, and I am considering picking one up myself (if I ever get the cash for it )

Been running a Thermaltake silent 420w for about a year which should come under the 45 quid mark with postage. Excellent psu thats never given me any problems no matter what I've been running and never seena a bad word against it.

Definitely either CWT or Thermaltake. Many many people sing the praises of CWT - I think that Antec rebadge them as their own, or that's what people say anyway. I have a Thermaltake in my main rig, and it's rocksolidstableniceandquiettbh. Not a problem. Lovely lines, and I can't hear it at all.

Ive used TermalTakes in quite a few systems now and they have all been solid for me. They are also whisper quiet !!

Hmm...The 480Watt "Silent Butterfly" one looks tasty, but will all that front-mounded temp control crap work with a case that isn't a Xaser?
Otherwise I'll get that 420W one from Dabs that's £35.
