Will these speakers connect to an LCD tv?

I'm considering buying these speakers, or similar, for my sister's TV for Christmas, since the inbuilt ones are weak to say the least

The description gives the I/O connections as a 3.5mm PIN. Am I right in thinking that this is a 3.5mm phono plug, and hence should be fine with a cheapo TV? 2.1 is as far as I need to go, so an amp isn't really necessary, just needs a little more oomph than the inbuilts.

it will be a standard 3.5mm headphone style connector, so assuming the TV has one of them as an output, yes that will work.
