    DVD Rom drive recommendations

    basically i have a NEC2500r already but i'm having trouble with read errors, only on certain disks and the unit writes perfectly so im sure there is not a hardware problem. Im now thinking of a DVD rom drive to supplement the burner, just for reading disks. must be black, anyone have recommendations of a unit thats particularly good with scuffed disks ??

    thanks.

    I recomend a sony. I put one in a PC i built for a friend and hes had no problems with it. I tried a few of my DVDs in there and they all worked fine (a few ar a little scuffeD and they worked fine). They also look a lot nicer than i expected them too.

    I would definately go with Falcon on the sony drives as I havent had a single problem with them in the past and find them to be really good even with scuffed disks
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    I have this one

    Try the NEC-1100A It's good, It's a DVD+R/RW format DVD burner, But It also does double duty as a cd reader/burner too, Not that I burn too many cd's now of course.
