    Unhappy EPoX 8K9A2 motherboard errror/fault?

I hope someone can help me - my computer will not boot-up and the motherboard's LED displays the POST CODE "26" at the point where it "hangs"

According to the handbook this is "Reserved" - but EPoX appear to have gone out of business as there is no support in the UK

Can you tell me what it means?

    Can I fix it myself?

Or, can it be repaired by a computer repair engineer and if so what part(s) would he need?

    Or

Do I have to throw it away?

I would be very grateful for any help and advice that you can give

They went out of business a few years ago and then surfaced as supox. There was an issue of bad caps on certain epox motherboards, you should have a look at the board and see if you can see any bulging or leaking caps. If all is clear then try a cmos clear and minimal boot

    Thanks Max

I cannot see any problem capacitors and tried a CMOS clear but to no avail

There must be somebody out there who knows what the EPoX post code 26 means?
