    Price check: Phenom II's

    Lo people
I've just been offered a pair of Phenom II cpu's

    a 710 which I thinkis a triple core at 2.6 ghz?

and a 720 Black edition (triple at 2.8ghz)

Now.. I can buy these if I fancy them, but I have no use for them.. and it's not allowed to sell them for profit here on HEXUS.. so I'm stuck. Don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, not if a HEXITE can use them.

Any idea what prices I should pay for them so I don't get stuck with them?

The X3 720BE was around £90 to £100 brand new and the X3 710 around £80 to £90 brand new IIRC.

Hard to say - they seemed to vanish from retail very quickly and are hard to get hold of now so second hand ones seem to be holding up in the £80 - £90 price range still. Personally if I was buying them to move on rather than keep, I wouldn't want to spend more than about £55 on the 710 and perhaps £70 on the 720?

Im also guessing if they unlock to a stable 4th core that may affect the value of them too.

How many people do you know that can kill a machine just by updating the BIOS?
Or kill a machine by simply installing RAM?

Are you trying to tell us something about Z33 we don't know?

BTW I wouldn't pay over £60 for the 720. Most x2s now unlock to at least a tri now.
