    USB Bluetooth Dongle

    Hey guys, i have recently aqqired an ngage for my birthday, and am sick of paying for GPRS with tmobile so ive decided to do as somebody advises me and think about getting a usb bluetooth dongle for the pc. I was looking@ this one:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...roductId=94254

    Ok so i have two questions:
    1. Will this adaptor be compatible with ngage?
    2. Does the pc have to be on for it to work, or can the cable modem just be on and then it will act as like a wireless connection between the ngage and then cable modem?
    and finally a question 3 just for luck
    3. The range is 10m, is that likely to be enough to cover my entire two floor house? Its not the biggest house in the world....

    Not sure about the ngage compatability.
    PC has to be on
    10m is without any walls. I purchased a 100m dongle for around £20 on ebay. Havent tried it to 100m, but works fine through walls in my place to around 10m. The software gives an indication signal quality, will try it out over longer range later.

    The argos site timing out for me at the moment, but the only Bluetooth adapter worth buying imo, is the Belkin one.
    Many of the others have poor software, and/or do not impliment the bluetooth standard and features fully.
    There about 20 quid from ebuyer iirc

    Crud, so the pc has to be on? I cannot just leave it plugged in at the mains and the usb port will work? As the ethernet port always works when the pc is off.
    So how far is 10m? i need the signal to travel downstairs and into the living room.

    10m ? well, its 10m :\, or 1000cm, or 0.01km, you cant say how many rooms it will go through, or walls, as it depends on the size of the room / walls. Your best bet its to measure a meter on a ruler, and times it by 10.

    I did a review on a Gigabyte one some time back.

    I tested it through a wall (upstairs/downstairs floor/ceiling actually) and it worked OK, but the software was crap.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    what you can do is get one from argos and take it back after testing. Think you get 14 days, just keep the packaging and double chechk that you cna return it. The one I had of ebay works fine, software was easy to setup as well. Just put cd in and it tells you what to do.
