Re: win7 installed - what to do with drivers?

Win 7 generally (in my experience) does a good job out of the box at installing most drivers, at least to a point of getting all working, although (as you allude to) there may well be other / better drivers available. In the example of the SN78SH7 there are drivers for Win 7 on the shuttle website, but better yet would indeed probably be from Nvidia's website, although my own searching seems to lead me in rings ...

I'm not completely surprised though that they havent been updated. Chipset drivers, in broad terms, arent updated anything like as frequently as graphics card drivers, taking instead the approach that when they work leave well alone. Also new games frequently come out that benefit from particular graphics driver tweaks, which does not apply so much for chipset drivers.

ok thanks, just looks like they simply have not been touched and therefore work well.

I take the general attitude if the drivers provided do no more than the ones provided with windows you might as well stick with the microsoft versions, rather than installing older ones.
