there's really no reason mate I don't believe there are any PSUs strong enought for a current computer that has such a socket... They disappeared to long ago. Is the power cable on your monitor stuck so you can't plug it into anything else but a PSU?

i don't know where they are but i think they are normally a lot more expencive, its not worth it. Just get an extension lead and hide it behind your pc

Ahh, I see. Just skip it then... I have no idea what PSU would offer what you're looking for today, and it isn't worth the time and money trying to get one I believe. Think you'll have to live with two power cables from your computer.... it's a cruel world

Depends on who you are, but I'd say no. Even though 1 cable always will be better than 2 if they bring you the same thing

No - not really - i just don't like bulky plugs everywhere - especially when i might need an extension thing for more plugs which would make it even more bulkier

I think I've just found some PSU's with the output for a monitor - are they any good?

if you cant find a psu with the connector, you could bodge one in yourself. All you need to do is cut an appropriate-sized hole in the psu, get a connector, and solder wires so that the pins on kettle/inverse kettle are connected (look at your old psu; thats how it's done)

i wouldnt recommend it though, for a few reasons, the most important being that you shouldnt trust bodges i come up with The other reason is that modern pcs use enough power as it is without plugging monitors into them, so its best to plug monitors into the mains.
