IC7-G or P4C800?

Which motherboard do you recommend and for which reasons?

P4C800....i dont own the actual board, but i have the P4P800, its solid as a rock, and has served me well. Im starting to like Asus boards a lot

If you're looking to do some extreme overclocking, then get the IC7-G, otherwise get the P4C800.

is the IC7-G the same as the IC7 but it has LAN?

Ive used the IC7 MAX 3 in the past, I found it to be rock stable and fantastic for overclocking

Is it worth paying the extra for the IC7-G as i already have a 10/100 Network card and our hub is only 10/100

yea if you only have a 10/100 hub and currently have a card theres little reson to get the gigabit lan.

The IC7-G also has a separate SiI SATA RAID controller which may be of use depending on how many drives you want to mount. Either way, I'd save yourself some grief and if you get the IC7 or the -G model, get a decent northbridge cooler; the supplied fan has a nasty habit of developing a whining, clattering noise after a while, and while there's an RMA procedure for the fan, it's a wee bit longwinded...

The IC7-G max2 & Max3 have gigaLAN on the CSA(seperate bus to the northbridge=very high throughput) and a seperate SATA raid controller.

I have the vanilla IC-7, oc's like a mofo. 1200Mhz FSB! Just have to add a LAN card. Its got SATA raid on the southbridge. So its should have everything you need.
