    Question Got an old laptop...

I have an old laptop here, spec:

    200Mb HDD
    486 (I think)
    8Megasmegs of RAM
    Monochrome LCD
    Failed battery

I have in bits at the moment, but what should I do with it?

    Either:

    A. Use the bits like the hdd and floppy drive (the dinky hdd is so cute, lol) for other things...

    B. Get it running a minilinux distro and ebay the thing as an old lappy reconditioned into a gateway...

    Opinions?

No poll - I want justifications...

I would go for plan B, I think its always a shame to split up perfectly working computers when they could be put to good use, plus there is always the opportunity to make some dosh. And people will buy almost anything from ebay

Well the lack of a network interface is gonna cause me problems with plan B.

I guess I could sort the CMOS battery out and sell it on still - should get maybe a tenner...

In that case gut it and mod the case into an sff machine with a PSone LCD.

    Ambitious? Yes

    Ubercool? Most definately.

If you take it to bits, all you have is old bits.

Make it into a project, will use some time.

That's a plan, but I'd probably just wire up VGA out/TV out instead of messing about too much.
