Re: DICE releases BF3 patch for HD7000 series

Well ivybridge has next to no need in optimising the code, graphically the 7000 series is totally different to the 6000 and nvidias, so it has had to be optimised a great deal behind the scene... considering the cpu isnt the bottleneck anyways it wont be a noticeable optimisation so most likely just making sure it runs!.

Noticed then yesterday, was waiting for the patch but im glad theyre doing atleast something as it makes the 7950 look an even better buy as the devs are supporting it , now Nvidia need to hurry up so i can decide if this generation is worth my monies!.

Still nothing. A hilarious thread on hard Forum though. Reads like audiophiles given new wooden vacuum tubes.

Yup, I read that for the lols.

Any signs for benches on this yet, I haven't noticed anything yet. Good or bad.

I doubt it. IF nvidia were that close to launch surely they would have made some sort of announcement months before hand (or as early as possible) to make people think twice about early adopting the AMD 7x series? I would say anybody that has purchased a 7x card, wont be buying a kepler card.

I am just going to order that GTX 570 then. Had a good, long conversation about new technologies with a friend yesterday and I was given arguments against being an early adopter of graphics cards. That, plus those crazy AMD prices, low Kepler yields, and me running on integrated Intel graphics (lol), are gonna make me order my graphics card today.

OK - Found something. This bloke at least sounds reasonable, and is showing a 15-20% increase in FPS from the patch.

Good to know. I'm hoping once the 12.2 drivers support the 7950 performance will be much better anyway. Anyone know when they are to be release non-preview??
