    Cases

Well it's that time to do some changing around (already!). Since there are so many new things going on in the hardware world i've decided to go back to a full system (on a shuttle at the moment).

Now i'm very out of touch on what case to get. I've seen absolutely loads of cases which look good but which is the best for keeping things cool and quiet?

    Any ideas?

    Cheers.

go for a case that you like m8

personally the new thermaltake tsunami looks nice as does the antec p160 (both 120m cooling) and there's always the lian-li and coolermasters ones but lets be honest they are getting on a bit no matter how good they are and the lian-li new ones are a tad expensive at the mo

Antec P160 looks great and does the job.

Read a few reviews, see what you think.

p160 looks great? Well, it's personal opinion I suppose, but why couldn't they have kept the front plain? Looks like a cracking cooling solution, and the built in drive bay covers are excellent, but I'd still be tempted by the sonata/SLK3700BQE if I wanted 120mm intake/exhaust...shame they aren't aluminium.

If there was some simple black aluminium case with 120mm intake/exhaust, with possibly an 80mm side intake to cool the graphics card area, I'd recommend that...but tbh it's your choice.

You might want to check if whatever you're buying is BTX compatible as well...that's possibly the only useful part of this post.

antect p160 looks ace and is very good at cooling, teh built in thermal probes work well and the display is excellent also 2*120mm fans lots of room and well built with removable mobo tray which does work very well.

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=32018 if you want to spend that extra £90 on proper hardware. Just received said case this morning to put my old motherboard, gfx and cpu in to run Linux and it's a belter. Much much better than it looks on the ebuyer page. Two 80mm intake vents and one 80mm outlet (room to mod it to 92 or 120mm) but no supplied fans. Back panels around the psu is a bit thin but at £12-odd with free shipping and an included cheapo PSU you really can't go wrong.

i have a thermaltake tsunami and yes, it is excellent. I nearly got a cheiftech case but upon close inspection [ie going into a shop to see one] i decided they looked tacky in comparison.

the tsunami is about 100 notes

btw i would be wary of spending over £30 with ebuyer...they have a certain..reputation for not delivering goods, or deliverying them in damaged condition and takeing forever to put it right. The motto for them is dont spend more with them than u can afford to lose

It's possible that it looks better in real life (or you might both be nutcases). In every picture I've seen the front looks minging, tis all I'm saying.

EDIT: added to the quote...didn't seem to get the nested quotes included for some reason.
