very good build, I use the NZXT sentry fan controller myself, shame they don't have a more upto date version as it's been around for sometime. Other than that, it's a monster build

Yeah I noticed that it had been around for some time but there isn't really much else out there unless you want switches/buttons or want to spend about double the money.... not that I should talk about money because including everything I've bought this PC is going to have set me back about £3500 :O - Its not too bad though, it should last 5 years no problem and that only works out at £2 a day which isn't much at all

Im just about at my tethers end with this set up and im so fed up of throwing money at it to quieten it that i might just replace the whole thing

Yeah out of all the fan controllers I see it's the best, small and has a LED display which is great and looks great. The Sentry LX on the other hand is too big and is cumbersome.

I don't get any rattling or vibration noise, what fans are you using? Also I know this might sound silly but are you using the rubber inserts on the top of the case and rubber washers on the other screws to reduce the noise levels? Also how quiet are you trying to make things because I game with a headset on so noise isn't that much of an issue to me anyway.

Yeah the LX was an option but I couldn't bring myself to pay £50 for one and it means having to use two drive bays which would limit me from any additional optical drives in the future. The SilverStone FP54S looked ok but its silver and most of the others just looked like they had too much going on for my liking.

How are you finding the RAT7?
I had a bit of a play with it at the gadget show and it instantly made my list of next purchases.

I can't see why it wouldn't be, I've had a good look on google and no one seems to be reporting any problems.

I really like it, at first when I got it I thought it looked really strange compared to any other mouse that I had owned before but once you start using it the design just feels perfect. After a little play about with the changeable size settings of the mouse I can honestly say I've never used one that is more comfortable and the Precision Aim Mode feels like cheating when playing BF3

Yeah i have more rubber washers on that i ever thought possible!

I have Alpenfohn Wingboost on the exhaust and the H100 then the front fan is replaced with a bitfenix spectre pro.

I also game with a headset so it doesnt bother me that much really i guess, its just not the way i want it
Might have to splash out on some more SSDs and get rid of the spinners.

Not really sure what it could be then, I'm using the original Corsair fans and then two CoolerMaster SickleFlow as pull fans on top, maybe your fans spin to fast causing to to rock side to side a little..... Idk

I'm loving my SSDs shame that they are still just to expensive to build an entire rig around them but if things keep going the way they are we will se. Full SSD systems available to the masses by 2013-2014.

Re: Building my first PC - Pics inside

looks like an awesome build. seeing how good the nzxt looks on the front has prompted me to go for one, computer is just that bit too noisy most of the time so some more control over the fans would be good. shows the difference a good case makes as well when it comes to keeping cables tidy, just not enough room in my CM 690 v1 to route the cables as tidy as i'd like
