    Price Check: Corsair Twinx 2x512MB XMS4000 Pro

    I know how much they are brand new, but was wondering how much I'd get for them now. Used 'em once to test that they work, but I can't use them to their full potential as they are intended to be used in Intel systems.

    Was having ongoing discussions with different people about what is better, higher clock speeds or tighter timings. Basically I listened to the wrong people. I chose these over the 3200XL's.

    If I get 90-95% back I'll be happy. I could really sell them as new.

    why not just use them at DDR400 speeds and put the timings right down?

    They won't be as good as the XMS3200XL's though. Not sure exaclty what timings I could get, but I don't want to use them as I want to sell them as new(ish).

    I was going to ask you why the hell you've got that RAM Big_Al 'cause you deffo won't be utilizing it.

    Personally i've got 2 x 512MB TwinX 3200XL Pro. Is that the stuff you want? Yes it is sweet. 2-2-2-5 by just telling the BIOS to read the values from the SPD. £220 though

    Keep the ram and use the tightest timings it will allow, your looking at negligable difference 2 - 3% by tighning the timings to the max, not worth the effort / cash imo.

    Yup, if it's clocked at 200MHz it might allow you to do 2-2-2-5, you never know.

    That RAM can be had for about £220 new so I'd say £180-200

    ps. I doubt it'll run cas2 @ 200mhz its rated cas3 @ 250, so maybe cas2.5 underclocked

    Eek, I thought about it logically as higher rating RAM usually has looser timings hence why i got the RAM that i have

    Hmm, OK. I'll wait till I get my motherboard replacement and see what it can do. This KT400A board has very limited overclocking abilities!

    Might sell 1 stick for the time being though...

    will prolly run at cas 2.5 at 200mhz, just run that, theres little point it the effort to get ram that will do cas 2.0

    I'd say you'd get £150-160 (based on my own sale of some Corsair on ebay a while back). I don't think you are going to get anyting like 90-95% back. Still, who knows, you might just find an eager buyer...
